A Whisper in the Heart

How you know who you are comes as a whisper in the heart.

No matter what else you have been doing, even for your whole life or work experience, there is a whisper from deep within.

This is your identity.

It wants to be expressed.

Even though you may not have had the training for what you want to do, it will be attracted to you, once you acknowledge it.

This whisper is the key to your joy and happiness.

It’s realization will bring you the kind of satisfaction and success nothing else will.

It may pull you away from what you are doing now, in fact it should, if you want to live a truly satisfying life.

It will create circumstances in your life which will make you willing to do whatever it takes, once you begin to honor it by listening to it.

Trust this whisper.

It is the reason you are here.

It is the reason for your existence.

It is the only way you will ever fill truly fulfilled and attract all the wonderful things you have ever wanted into your life.

Trust it, listen to it, follow it.

Observations on Becoming

What I thought was discordant and distressing was part of the process of becoming.

The resistance to present surroundings was a desire for rebirth into another existence.

That desire produced conflict after conflict until the bonds were broken, and the rebirth into another world, or version of it, were achieved.

No longer constrained in an undesirable world, there was more freedom to experiment and to create the new world.

My role was to be caregiver and creator of enough safety to prevent self-destruction while enough power was amassed to create lift-off.

Once in orbit, getting used to life without the constraints of gravity, a new course could be set.

At the new destination, a whole new set of relationships, tools, techniques, and goals had to be shaped, and honed.

Finally, the ability to function in the new world was achieved.

Continue to Create

I am creative.

I am creating the atmosphere around me.

My thought uplifts or depresses the actions I take.

I am living the wealth of my own thoughts.

With them, I can push back the depression of inaction.

With them, I can create harmony.

With them, wealth flows naturally to me, because I create a place for it.

By giving freely, I am able to receive freely.

All of us posses spiritual wealth because we possess spiritual identity through our spiritual qualities.

What We Are Evolving

I had a long discussion with one of my adult children.

I told her it will be all right.

To me, it feels like the same kind of crisis on a national level as when a person loses their footing.

For a while, it is scary and even dangerous, and then you find your footing and you are much more focused, much better directed.

It’s just that it is happening on a national level.

So many people feel disoriented and the stakes are really, really high.

But the solutions which are already in process are really, really powerful.

The things that are good are good from the ground up.

There are no leaks in what is good.

The things that are true are universally and eternally true.

The things that work, work for everyone.

Nature is not partial.

And so, if through greed and selfishness and short-sightedness, on the part of our country’s leadership, we go through this crisis, the solutions which have always been there, will become more apparent as we are moved to draw on them.

And moved we will be.

The minds of people are much more satisfied when they are given substantial work to do.

Shallow entertainment does not produce restfulness.

So we will employ our minds and we will employ our hands and we will become much, much happier in this new life which develops outwardly even as it develops inwardly.

The actual “truths which we hold self-evident” “that all men are created equal” and have the right  to pursue happiness aided by a just government, are available to all of us once we seek to reestablish them in a way which benefits all of us.

It will be nice to see how our evolving new approach blesses and benefits all of us.

Good Habits and New Ground

Although I raised my children to prepare them for certain kinds of situations, naturally in times of such fast change, it was impossible to anticipate everything.

I know that through cultivating their intelligence, humor, and manners, they will be served well in any context.

How their lives are shaping up depends on their choices and their priorities.

I, too, am free to continue to grow in new directions, and I have the time to figure out what they are now that everyone is launched.

We all have so many new situations developing as world events impact us.

It is good to get our footing on new ground, in the context of being individuals, and not just through the many situations that engaged us as parents.

In My Own Mind

How can you tell what is going on in your own mind?

There is so much information, media harassment and emotion coming at you all the time.

When it gets intolerable, you can simply stop and let it all wash over you without taking any of it in.

There is a quiet place within you.

You can hear it.

You can feel it.

In that quiet place, you can listen for your own thoughts.

You may experience a parade of thoughts trying to get your attention.

When they no longer interest you, you will hear the quiet sound of your own thoughts.

You can breathe into that quiet place and that quiet time.

Once you have found it, you can return there often.

The greatest secret is the value of your own thoughts.

They are unique, they are not in competition with anyone else’s.

They assure you a valuable place in society, because society needs your individuality and creativity.

It can certainly be a challenge to develop in this way, but your own thoughts will lead you to the most satisfying work you can every do.

What Is Your True Path?

The knowledge of your true path is within you.

It is not what society tells you.

It is not what your significant other tells you.

It is what is in the deep heart and soul of your being.

When you find yourself needing some quiet time, or you are facing discouragement, or you find the direction you are going intolerable, this is when you can begin to discover your true path.

You will know it by its uniqueness, and by its perfect fit for you.

It may take you in a completely different direction from what you expected.

It may extend where you are now.

It may focus on one tiny little aspect of what you are doing.

But it will feel perfect.

And you will realize a new kind of satisfaction.

One that begins with what is inside you.

This is your path.

It will meet your every need.

And it will put you in touch with those who think as you do, and who are satisfied with what they have discovered for themselves from within.

Your Own Dream

Your dream is your own.

So are your resources.

Your dream will always challenge you to expand your resources.

Take the time to figure it out.

Take the temporary steps you need to take, but don’t let them substitute for your own dream.

Your own dream will keep building in your mind.

Get a quiet spot where you can consistently devote time to it.

What you nurture will grow.

Nurture your dream, not your dissatisfaction.

Turn within and look at your dream, often.

Let it take you in new directions.

Your life experiences will help you shape your dream.

Your dream will attract people who appreciate it to you.

When you dream is mature enough, you will find people who support it.

While you are nurturing it, remember that other’s opinions are irrelevant.

Only your love for your dream has any value.

Trust yourself.

You were put here for a purpose.

Love whatever that is.

Find out and create your dream.

Living in Precious Time

Every breath we draw, every blink of our eyes is precious time.

In each moment, we can feel the Presence of something divine.

Within ourselves, evidenced by the perfect system we inhabit, is the Source for all our dreams.

It is the Source for practical living.

It is the Source for creative ideas.

It is the Source for all our solutions.

And the really nice thing is, that nothing we do from our Source interferes with anything anyone else is doing from their Source.

That is really the amazing benefit of Divine Management.

Infinite resources for all of the ideas which inhabit Creation.

So, back to precious time…

…there is intelligence, funding, balance, benefit, timeliness for every idea which is in accord with our highest sense of ourselves.

A Truly Amazing Coincidence.

So do not settle for something less than the best of which you are capable of dreaming.

Only the best, most fulfilling, exciting, dramatic and powerful you is worth your own time.

Think of yourself in terms which are unlimited.

Then you will match up with the divine.

And then you will live in precious time.

Listen Within Often

How can you find out what you need to know?

Your success is deep within you.

Once you get the knack of listening deep within, it becomes more and more natural.

Deep within, you have this amazing identity.

It doesn’t look like anyone else’s.

It is your unique signature.

It is your identity.

It is the reason you are here.

As you discover it, it will lead you to the most amazing and satisfying life.

The outer draw appeals only to your senses.

The inner guidance takes you all the way to your deep identity.

Believe me, you won’t be satisfied until you find your uniqueness.

You will be given the struggles and challenges that make you really value it and give you the strength to carry out your purpose.

You are here for a good work, not just a job.

You are here for an amazing ride.

Go find it.

Listen within, a lot, and often.

Being in Touch

Being in Touch

We may feel a lot of tension, most of it quite unnoticeable, because we are not yet really in touch with ourselves.

We have been conditioned to follow directions, go for certain types of economic and social goals, and yet, these may have nothing to do with what our own true goals are.

This produces a lot of tension, but since we are so used to feeling that way, we may not identify it correctly.

When we do find ourselves getting out of the made rush through illness, a sense of disorientation or lack of meaning, failure or simple fatigue, it gives us a change to look at things differently.

In the priority of gaining back our health, relaxing and slowing down, we have the opportunity to reassess what we are doing and why.

When we allow our true feelings to surface, we may be surprised to discover what they are.

Quite often, our true feelings reveal interests and priorities that have absolutely nothing to do with society’s values around us.

So, this is the moment of courage.

While you are feeling your weakest physically you may draw on the courage you never knew you had to change direction.

You will find that this contributes greatly to your health, your sense of focus and direction, your imagination, sense of purpose and your happiness.

Womanhood and Manhood

The competence and freedom you express as part of the identity you create for yourself gives you the most possible fulfilled life.

Through your deep intuition and respect for yourself, your physical strength and dexterity are guided to be of service to yourself and others.

Because of your insight into your identity, you know that as you see yourself, you must naturally see others in the same way.

The more you respect your own beliefs and practices, the more you respect the beliefs and practices of others.

Your womanhood and manhood means that you have an ability to comfort as well as to provide.

Your womanhood and manhood means that you have an ability to listen as well as to express.

Your womanhood and manhood means that you have an ability to be generous as well as to be wise.

Your practice of these abilities are a part of what constitutes your womanhood and your manhood.

Consideration

When one of our adult children began visiting only his spouse’s family, we were surprised.

As it continued, we were confused.  We had met the girl, and originally enjoyed her a lot.

As the years continued, we wondered if she realized that his family loved him as much as her family loved her.

A friend invited me to a Facebook page for people who were experiencing estrangement.  Her adult daughter had ceased contact.

An artist friend told me of visiting her son and his family and asked him why, in the nine years of his marriage, they only visited his spouse’s family.  They had prepared to move there for their retirement.  Instead, they cut their visit short and enjoyed some vacation time in another location.

In the light of my small circle of friends and their experiences, I was grateful another friend gave me an affirmation to consider.

“Thank you for what you are teaching me through this experience.”

For a few days, I pondered this without trying to come up with any answers.

Very gently, a few days later, I found out what I was being taught.

It was that it is OK to be happy anyway.

I was surprised.

There is so much emotional investment in raising children to adulthood.  One looks forward to enjoying adult conversations with our children once they are grown.  To including them and being included in an expanded sense of family.  To getting to know them in another context besides the challenges of raising them.

This is happening with a number of our other children.  We enjoy our conversations with them as adults.  Their expanding viewpoints and ours.  Their new experiences.  Watching them raise their children and seeing greater maturity permeate their lives.

Even though we don’t see some of our adult children, it is good to know that it is OK to be happy anyway.

The Universe is generous, and has given us full lives, apparently, with, or without our adult children.

And they, and we, are always very deeply loved.
